This Privacy Policy explains how beyondcampus (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects the personal information you provide when using our website, programs and services (collectively, the “Services”). We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in accordance with applicable data-protection laws.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties:
- Account & enrolment data — name, email address, phone number, city, education background, résumé and career interests.
- Payment data — billing name, payment method type and the transaction reference returned by our payment gateway (Razorpay). Full card numbers, CVV and net-banking credentials are never stored on our servers.
- Program interaction data — attendance, assignments, project submissions, mentor feedback and community messages.
- Automatically collected data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages viewed and timestamps, via cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, personalise and improve our Services.
- To process payments and issue tax invoices.
- To communicate about your program, enrolment status, changes to sessions and important updates.
- To send occasional marketing about new cohorts and free resources (you can opt out at any time).
- To connect you with hiring partners with your explicit consent.
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations, court orders and lawful requests from public authorities.
3. Cookies & tracking
We use first-party and select third-party cookies to keep you signed in, measure how the website is used, and improve performance. You may disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings; some Services may not function correctly without cookies enabled.
4. Sharing of information
We share personal information only in the limited circumstances below:
- Service providers — trusted vendors that help us operate (payment gateway, cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer-support tooling), under confidentiality and data-processing agreements.
- Hiring partners — only when you explicitly opt in during the placement stage of a program.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with prior notice to affected users.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising purposes.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, principle-of-least-privilege access, logging and periodic reviews. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and to meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations. Program interaction data is typically retained for a minimum of 24 months to support alumni benefits and referrals; billing records are retained for the period mandated by tax law.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention obligations;
- withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time;
- lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Contact Us page.
8. Children’s privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. International transfers
Your information is primarily stored in India. Where we use service providers located outside India, we require appropriate safeguards to protect your data in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on the website. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the version currently in effect.
